History of Bagale Thapa

Preserving our family's rich heritage, stories, and legacy

Origins of Bagale Thapa

The Bagale Thapa family traces its roots back to ancient times in Nepal. Originating from the Thapa clan, known for their warrior heritage, the Bagale branch has a rich history intertwined with the country's socio-political landscape.

Thalekharka

Thalekharka is located in Bhirkot Municipality, Syangja District, part of the Gandaki Province. Historically, this region was part of the Kingdom of Bhirkot, one of the petty kingdoms in the medieval Chaubisi Rajya (24 kingdoms) confederation. Thalekharka has been a significant ancestral land for the Bagale Thapa lineage, where the family established strongholds and played key roles in local governance and defense during this region's rich historical period.

Pekhu

Pekhu is located in Waling Municipality, Syangja District. Historically part of the Pekhubaaghkhor village development committee, Pekhu merged into Waling Municipality in 1996. This area served as a vital hub for cultural and economic activities, where the Bagale Thapa family's presence contributed significantly to community development and trade. Waling Municipality sits in the Aandhikhola valley and is known as the "Pink City of Nepal" for its distinctive architecture.

Further Extensions

Beyond Thalekharka and Pekhu, the Bagale Thapa lineage extended to various regions, adapting to changing times while preserving core values. This includes migrations, alliances, and contributions to broader Nepali society. Ongoing research continues to uncover more about these extensions.
